I see where Ofcom in the UK are to introduce Top Hour Legal IDs very soon, so that punters can more easily identify the station they are listening to.
The fact that most stations tend to ID themselves between songs and at least twice a link, would make you think that they have enough chances to get their name across, but then again they've been doing this in North America forever.
My favourite Top Hour legal ID was in Vancouver back in the early 90s. I was working on LG73 (CHR powerhouse in it's day) and the Ident said: "On 730 AM and 94.7 Cable FM, this is 730 CKLG Vancouver - All Hit LG73"...then bang into the sung jingle and of course the Top Hour Power song. Yeah, a little anoraky, but lovely too !
Then again...it is April 1st ! Who knows????
